Helping to End Animal Cruelty By Buying Cruelty-Free

According to the Human Society International, it’s estimated that more than 115 million animals worldwide are used in laboratory experiments every year. If you think that’s a lot, that’s only the number published by countries. For example, up to 90 percent of the animals used in U.S. laboratories (purpose-bred rats, mice, birds, fish, amphibians, reptiles, and invertebrates) are excluded from official statistics. The numbers are truly unknown. 

While testing on animals is cruel, it’s also unnecessary. We know that thousands of products are already safe (without the need for additional testing). We also know that innovative testing methods, such as human cell-based tests and sophisticated computer models, are less expensive, faster, and more reliable to use.

At KITTEN, we want you to know the facts. With that said, we don’t want to force visuals of animal cruelty and animal testing down your throats. So, you won’t see any graphic visuals here. We do, however, want you to know that your choices can influence the beauty industry market.

The good news is that consumers are becoming more and more aware of animal cruelty’s ethical issues. In response, they’re making sure they purchase items from companies that guarantee cruelty-free products.
